Electric Halo

Inspiration: Electric Halo on page 46 of the January/February 2016 issue of Nail It!

Products: Julep Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat, Zoya Maya, Art Club Nail Art Duo Gold Glitter

Thoughts: Once again, I started with a good base of Oxygen since this was another negative space tutorial.  Since the hole reinforcers need to be removed while the polish is still wet, a good one-coat polish is definitely needed.  Unfortunately, Maya was not that, but I got the reinforcers up without too much damage.

Shades of Blu

Inspiration: January 2015 Ipsy Bag (clicking will take you through my referral link)

Products: Zoya Blu, Probelle Into the Blue, Sally Hansen HD Blu

Thoughts: I have loved blue nail polish since I first saw it in the 90s.  This Probelle polish is a great blue for every day wear.  The formula might be a little watery, but it does last.  While I have a ton of blues in my collection, I went with the other two because they have the same name!

Barred Buds

Inspiration:  Barred Buds: How to Polish It on page 44 of the March/April 2014 issue of Nail It!

Products:  Color Club Mod in Manhattan, Art Club Nail Art Duo Black, Julep Shannon and Tina, Formula X for Sephora We Are in Luck Here from the Ariel Whatca-Nail-Call-It set, Zoya Blu, China Glaze What a Pansy

Thoughts: This mani uses some of my favorite spring colors - mint, orchid, and periwinkle.  What a Pansy is by far by favorite new color, but I did the rest of my fingers in Shannon because I had never tried Julep's new Silk Finish, and I have to say, I really like it for a matte - really looks like silk.  The accent fingers were fun to do, but I had manis I liked better this past month.

Building Blocks

Inspiration:  Wedding Belles - Building Blocks on page 111 of the March/April 2014 issue of Nail It!

Products:  Julep Nicolette and Kennedy, Color Club Put a Pin In It, Zoya Dot, Finger Paints Wild for Art

Thoughts: So this is supposed to be a wedding mani, but I changed it up by using some not-quite pastels.  I also only did an accent finger and then painted each remaining finger one of the four colors.  The striping brush in the Finger Paints was fine but the formula was rather runny, so I didn't get as nice a line as I had hoped.

Dreaming of Spring Toes

Inspiration:  February 2014 Ipsy (clicking will take you through my referral link)

Products:  Zoya Dot, Serum No. 5 May Flowers

Thoughts: When I saw I received Dot, I knew I was going to have to dress it up some - petal pink is just too plain for me.  I thought this Spring-y glitter was perfect as this very cold weather has me wanting Spring to hurry up!

Field of Alliums

Inspiration:  Straight from the Catwalks! - Emerson: Field of Alliums Floral of It on page 42 of the January/February 2014 issue of Nail It!

Products:  Zoya Blu, Spellbound Nails Lilac You, Color Club London Calling and Wild Cactus, China Glaze Bizarre Blurple, It's So Easy Double Up (not pictured), Q-Tips (not pictured)

Thoughts:  I am very proud of this mani - the above pic was done with my non-dominant hand!  The flowers were supposed to be made with a make-up brush, but I didn't have any old ones, so I tried a Q-Tip.  I didn't dab it off enough before applying, so the flowers appear more solid than airy, but it worked very nicely for spotting my other nails.

This month, every subscriber got one of two Zoya polishes in their Ipsy bag (clicking will take you through my referral link). I got Dot, which is a pale pink.  The other color, Odette, was more my style, but I know I will find a use for Dot.

What other goodies did I get? POPBeauty Plump Pop Mini in Peony Petal, City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon, Tini Beauty Eyetini Eye Cordial Shadow Tint in Ambrosia, and IPKN NY Moist & Firm BB in Light.
