Strong Graphic Lines

Inspiration: Bibhu Mohapatra: Strong Graphic Lines on page 20 of the March/April 2015 issue of Nail It!

Products: Indie Polish Dolly Berlin, Art Club Nail Art Duo Black

Thoughts: So the tutorial had much stronger graphic lines than I managed, but I still like this.  Reminds me of some modern art.

Frozen

Inspiration:  Nail It! Nailtini Nail Art Contest #1

Products: Color Club Aquamarine Azulino, Indie Polish Joni, and Rainbow Honey Waves

Thoughts: To celebrate their partnership with Nailtini this month, Nail It! Magazine is running three Instagram contests based on the mood boards for each of their three polishes.  The first contest focuses on Ritz Fizz and is all about glaciers and iridescent clothing.  I tried to combine these two elements an came up with a spiky gradient that reminds me of Frozen.

Toes Ahoy

Inspiration:  Color

Products: Indie Polish Wanderlust, NailThins Compass Rose Decals Blue

Thoughts: These decals are pretty nice.  They are really thin, which can be tricky to work with, but they flatten out nicely with no bumps and stay on if you follow the directions.  I love how the blue looks over the true gold polish.

Flotsam and Jetsam

Inspiration:  Flotsam and Jetsam on page 113 of the May/June 2014 issue of Nail It!

Products: Essie Bobbing for Baubles, Indie Polish Joni, Art Club Nail Art Duo White, Color Club Look Book, and Finger Paints Wild for Art

Thoughts: The current issue of Nail It has a some nautical themed ideas, including some tutorials.  I skipped the last step (which was to outline in black), but I think these turned out cute.  I do need a better gold striper, though.

Unknown Toes

Inspiration:  Color

Products:  Indie Polish in two unknown colors

Thoughts: Indie Polish has a deal in their Etsy store for a mystery pack of four minis.  I love mystery packs, so of course I had to get one.  The minis I got did not have color names on them, but I think the green might be Yoshi.  I cannot find anything like the matte glitter coat, so I am guessing it is either out of stock or was a color they were testing.  It is really cool, though, but you do have to keep shaking the bottle to mix the glitter with the matte base.
