Inspiration: ColorProducts: Julep Rae, OPI Sheer Tint Don't Violet Me Down, foil in Radiant OrchidThoughts: Pantone has definitely picked a winner this year for its color of the year. Radiant Orchid is a beautiful color, especially for spring. I tried to do radiant lines with the foil, but it did not work. But the foil is very pretty anyway - in person it looks like a purple oil slick.
Inspiration: February 2014 Birchbox (clicking will take you through my referral link)Products: Ruby Wing Kitten Heels, OPI Sheer Tint Don't Violet Me DownThoughts: Due to a broken sample, I received two Birchboxes this month, and as each contained a nail color, I decided to combine them. I love how the sheet violet of Don't Violet Me Down toned down the super bright indoor hot pink of Kitten Heels. Outside, I was surprised that the color still changed (not sure if it would under a colored topcoat), but it turned into this wonderful reddish-pink.

Thoughts:I always do the Surprise Me option for the INN Box (Inzuri Nail Nation), and this month I got the Love Hurts set. No bonus beauty items this month - BOO! - but that's probably because the INN Box is going through some changes. They are going to a three-tier subscription model where you can choose to receive two or three polishes. I highly suggest you check it out as this is my favorite nail subscription box as the curated sets of different brands always work so well together. I always reflect on the three I get until inspiration strikes in a way to use all three together. This month, the name of the OPI one made me think of ice cream sundaes, so I did an accent nail that is reflective of that.
If you saw my original February 2014 Birchbox post, you will remember that one of my samples shattered spilling oil all over everything. I contacted CS, hoping they could send me a new sample. Well, they sent me a whole new box - and this one had nail polish, too! I got this adorable mini bottle of OPI's new Sheer Tints in Don't Violet Me Down. Their amazing CS is one of the reasons I love Birchbox (clicking will take you through my referral link).
What other goodies did I get? Beauty Protector Protect & Oil, Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner, Joan Vaas L'eau da Cristal, and Harney & Sons Fine Teas in Paris and White Vanilla Grapefruit.

Thoughts:I always do the Surprise Me option for the INN Box (Inzuri Nail Nation), and this month I got the Resolution Rebel set. I also got the Kashmir shampoo and hair mask, which are wonderful! Anyway, with the polishes, I decided to try some freehand nail art for the first time, and discovered I am not very good at using a fine-tip nail brush to paint with either finger (lines I can do, round objects, no so much). Since I am hanging out with my nerd group most of the weekend, I decided to go with a UFO, but it kinda looks like a cloud and rain. Oh well, the nail polish is nice!
